Iran has leveled accusations against the United States, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, claiming they are exploiting the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to advance their political objectives. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, made this assertion amid reports that these countries are attempting to pass an anti-Iran resolution during the IAEA’s Board of Governors meeting in Vienna. Baqaei indicated that while Iran has previously cooperated with the IAEA, the US and its European allies have been manipulating the agency for their political gains. He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to its obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty and Comprehensive Safeguard Agreements. It is believed that the US, France, Britain, and Germany are pressing for a resolution that criticizes Iran’s adherence to safeguard obligations. In parallel developments, US President Donald Trump reportedly approached Russian President Vladimir Putin, seeking Russia’s help in restarting the dormant US-Iran nuclear talks. According to reports, the leaders discussed the nuclear program, with Trump signaling a desire for Russia to play a mediating role.
