A woman in Leongatha, Australia, orchestrated a deadly dinner party. Erin invited her husband Simon’s parents, his aunt, and her husband. The meal featured beef, and after the guests consumed the food, three of them died within a week. The cause of death was revealed to be amatoxin poisoning from poisonous mushrooms. The investigation pointed to Erin as the culprit. She was engaged in a contentious separation and child support dispute with her husband, Simon. Court proceedings revealed that Erin had previously attempted to poison Simon as well. She was found guilty of the murders and her sentencing is scheduled for August 25th.
During the trial, it emerged that Erin had falsely claimed to have cancer to gain sympathy and lure her in-laws to the dinner. When confronted, she initially denied any malicious intent, claiming the deaths were due to food poisoning. However, her deception was exposed through a critical piece of evidence.
