Thousands of demonstrators participated in nationwide ‘No Kings’ protests on Saturday, raising objections to the Trump administration’s policies. President Donald Trump reacted to the widespread dissent by sharing an AI-generated video on Truth Social. The video depicts a ‘King Trump’ character in a jet, appearing to spray protesters with mud. This action follows recent comments from Trump himself, where he denied being a king and leveraged the government shutdown situation to justify cutting Democratic priorities. He stated that he is not a king and that Democratic opposition granted him the right to permanently reduce programs they favored. The Saturday protests drew large crowds across the US, with specific grievances concerning immigration, security, and educational policies, which protesters deemed anti-democratic and un-American. Supporters like Senator Bernie Sanders emphasized the pro-American sentiment behind the demonstrations. Democrats, including Senator Chris Murphy, encouraged peaceful protest and noted the empowering effect of such public displays. In contrast, Republican leaders have strongly denounced the protesters, employing inflammatory labels such as ‘communists’ and ‘Marxists.’
