
Donald Trump disclosed that a trade agreement with India is nearing completion, alongside the introduction of new tariffs on 14 nations. The new tariffs, slated to begin on August 1st, include a 40% rate for Myanmar and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Trump, following a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, mentioned finalized deals with the UK and China. He added that countries where deals were not feasible would receive letters outlining tariff obligations. While specifics are still unknown, Trump’s remarks imply advanced negotiations with India. The affected countries include Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Republic of Serbia, Republic of Tunisia, South Africa, South Korea, and Thailand.
