The Indian government has issued a travel advisory, cautioning Indian citizens against non-essential travel to Iran. The advisory, released by the Indian Embassy in Iran, comes amid heightened security concerns in the region. Indian nationals are advised to assess the situation carefully before traveling. The embassy also encourages continuous monitoring of regional developments and adherence to updates from Indian authorities. For those already in Iran and wishing to depart, the embassy confirmed that commercial flights and ferry services are accessible. The advisory follows recent military actions. Israel’s ‘Operation Rising Lion’ and subsequent retaliatory actions by Iran and the United States have heightened tensions. The conflict ended with Israel’s unilateral halt. The advisory is also influenced by the ongoing nuclear program debate, the breakdown of the JCPOA in 2018 and Iran’s recent actions regarding uranium enrichment and cooperation with IAEA.
