Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, reacted to the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting held in Tianjin, China, on Friday. He implied that India and Russia were shifting their allegiances, specifically towards China. His comments highlight the changing dynamics of global relationships.
Sharing a photograph that featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump remarked, “Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest, China. May they have a long and prosperous future together!” His comments indicate a concern in Washington about the increased cooperation between the three countries.
Trump’s statement reveals concerns about the escalating influence of China, whom he has described as “deepest” and “darkest.” He had previously commented on September 2 about the India-U.S. relationship, calling it a “one-sided disaster” and highlighting the existing trade issues. He also pointed out India’s heavy reliance on Russia for oil and military products.
