At ‘The People’s House Exhibit,’ Donald Trump indicated that bringing together Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin for a meeting is exceedingly difficult. He likened the situation to the challenge of blending oil and vinegar. Trump wants the two leaders to find common ground to end the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has led to numerous casualties. He stated his willingness to negotiate a peace deal, citing his prior experience in ending seven conflicts. Trump has accused both sides of insincerity in negotiations, with Putin questioning Zelenskyy’s leadership and legitimacy. He indicated that if a resolution cannot be reached and Russia is found to be at fault, he would consider sanctions, possibly including significant tariffs on Russian oil. While Putin has expressed his readiness for a meeting with Zelenskyy to discuss a potential deal, a clear agenda is currently lacking.
