Addressing the 250th anniversary of the US Army at Fort Bragg, Donald Trump attacked the state of Los Angeles. He stated that the city has gone downhill, citing the rise of transnational gangs and criminal networks. Trump called the ongoing protests an assault on peace and national sovereignty. He promised to return the city to a state of safety and cleanliness. He also criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for allegedly funding the protestors. Reports confirmed that the former President sent additional troops to Los Angeles in response to the protests that occurred following workplace raids conducted by immigration authorities, which subsequently resulted in arrests.
