Former President Donald Trump is preparing to sue The Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Rupert Murdoch in response to their reporting on the Jeffrey Epstein case. The dispute stems from a Wall Street Journal article concerning a letter allegedly written by Trump to Epstein, which contained suggestive content. Trump has firmly refuted the claims, declaring the letter to be a fabrication.
According to Trump, he directly informed Rupert Murdoch and the editor of The Wall Street Journal, Emma Tucker, that the letter was fake, yet the publication moved forward with the story. He has vowed to pursue legal action against the newspaper and its affiliates, asserting the necessity of truthful reporting. Trump also highlighted his history of legal victories against other media outlets. He criticized the Wall Street Journal’s integrity, calling it a ‘Disgusting and Filthy Rag,’ and accused them of publishing false information to maintain relevance.
The article in question involves a note bearing Trump’s name and a drawing that was included in a collection of letters given to Epstein. Trump has denied any involvement with the letter or the drawing, and made it clear that he would take legal action should the story be published. Epstein, who faced charges of sex trafficking, was later found dead in jail, with his death ruled a suicide, but the circumstances surrounding his death continue to be debated.
