
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, a prominent UAE businessman and leader of DP World, along with his son Ghanim bin Sulayem, visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, experiencing its grandeur and cultural significance. The visit involved a deep immersion into the temple’s architecture, spirituality, and cultural heritage.
Swami Brahmavihar Dasji expressed his gratitude to Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem for his continuous support. He highlighted Sulayem’s contributions, including aid with stone transport during the pandemic and backing sustainable temple initiatives. The Swami mentioned that Sulayem’s presence has been a great source of inspiration.
Sulayem expressed his honor in witnessing “an amazing creation.” He highlighted the transformative nature of the temple since his last visit, praising the location and the progress of construction. He described the completed structure with its 3D-printed walls, immersive screens, and detailed carvings as truly remarkable. He commended the design’s harmony and the welcoming atmosphere that fosters culture, education, and understanding. He acknowledged the UAE’s legacy of tolerance, emphasizing that it allows diverse communities, particularly the Indian community, to feel at home.
He described the temple as a place that nourishes the soul, creating a sense of infinite experience. He praised the dedication of those serving at the temple, noting the newness of each experience. The BAPS Hindu Mandir, which opened on February 14, 2024, stands as the first traditional Hindu temple in the UAE and spans 27 acres, constructed from Rajasthan sandstone.
