
Oldbury, UK, is the scene of a horrific crime where a 20-year-old Sikh woman was raped and subjected to racial abuse. The incident occurred near Tame Road. The victim reported being told to ‘go back to her country.’ Police are treating the assault as a racially motivated crime that happened on Tuesday morning at 8:30 AM. They are examining CCTV footage and gathering forensic evidence to aid their investigation.
The suspects are described as white males. One was seen with a shaved head and wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, the other wearing a gray top. The local Sikh community is expressing outrage. The police are reassuring the community by increasing patrols.
MP Preet Kaur Gill has condemned the attack, stating that it was racially motivated. She emphasized that the Sikh community, and all communities, have the right to feel safe, respected, and valued. She further added that there is no tolerance for racism, misogyny or any form of hatred in Britain. MP Jas Athwal also described the incident as a hateful, racist and misogynistic attack. The incident echoes another recent assault targeting two elderly Sikh men in Wolverhampton.
