Modifications to the drones allow for increased speed, higher flight ceilings, and sharp, evasive maneuvers, making them harder to intercept. Similarly, updated missile software enables unpredictable flight paths, challenging advanced air defense systems, including US-supplied Patriots. A concentrated assault on a key Kyiv power station on October 10, involving hundreds of drones and missiles across multiple cities, is cited as an example of this refined operational model. The strategic aim is not just immediate destruction, but also to prolong the strain on repair crews and restoration efforts.
