The Russia-Ukraine war, which has persisted for over three years, has evolved into a conflict encompassing approximately 75 nations. The presence of thousands of foreign mercenaries fighting in Ukraine, some supporting Russia and others the Ukrainian forces, intensifies the potential for a broader global conflict.
Adding to the complexity, Ukraine has apprehended Chinese nationals on the front lines, uncovering their Chinese passports. This has ignited a debate about China’s underlying motives. The situation is viewed as a strategic maneuver, bolstering the China-Russia relationship and potentially assisting in its Taiwan mission.
China’s actions include providing its military with combat experience for a possible Taiwan mission.
China conducted a test of its ICBM missile on September 25, 2024. The video of this test was released by Chinese media nearly 11 months later. This ICBM, reportedly the DF-31AG, has been upgraded and can now carry nuclear warheads to the United States. Its range of around 13,500 km underscores China’s escalating military preparedness.
The prolonged Russia-Ukraine war suggests that a significant part of the globe could be negatively impacted if the war does not come to an end swiftly. The involvement of foreign mercenaries is a concerning development.
