
Muhammad Yunus, the interim Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, addressed the UN General Assembly, focusing on the crises in Gaza and Myanmar. He warned of a ‘genocide’ in Gaza and urged international intervention. Regarding Myanmar, Yunus highlighted the plight of the Rohingya and called for a political solution to ensure their equal rights. Outside the UN, supporters of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina demonstrated against Yunus, reflecting the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh. Yunus criticized India for harboring Hasina, linking it to ongoing political instability. During his speech, Yunus also reflected on Bangladesh’s progress and the significance of its people. He additionally highlighted the economic impact of Bangladeshi migrant workers.
