Priyanka Sahu Raipur. There are many types of tribes in India. Some of them have now adopted modern lifestyle, while many tribes are still keeping their old customs and traditions alive. They still away from the Morden civilization… live a life based on natural resources between the forests… Today we are going to tell you about one such tribe of Chhattisgarh, whose unique tradition will also be surprised to know about the unique tradition…
A special backward tribe of Chhattisgarh is Bhunjia Tribe. She is known for her unique lifestyle and unique respect for the kitchen. The women of this tribe consider their kitchen so sacred that even if an outsider touches their kitchen, they break it and throw it to the soil. His kitchen is not ‘kitchen’ but called ‘Lal Bangla’… here is forbidden to go to any man. The special thing is that this tradition related to his kitchen has started from Treta Yuga.
Recognition is related to Mother Sita’s Haran
According to the belief of Bhunjia Tribe, Lord Rama was living on exile with Sita and Lakshmana in the same area where he lives. During this time, Ravana had killed Mother Sita on the pretext of asking for food. When the people of the Bhujia tribe settled there, this matter was afraid of the men of the tribe, because they too leave their wife alone at home and go to the forest to cut wood. He was afraid that he should not be kidnapped during this time….

Since this incident, women of Bhujia tribe consider protecting the sanctity of their kitchen as paramount and do not allow any outsider to enter their kitchen. However, according to the Ramayana, Ravana killed Mother Sita by calling her out of the security circle by deceit.
Men fast during the construction of red bungalow
There are also special rules to build kitchens of this tribe. The special thing is that the kitchen is made from red soil outside the house, which is called ‘Lal Bungalow’. For its construction, men keep fasting and cut wood and bamboo from the forests and produce it. They apologize to ‘Prakriti Devi’ before cutting wood from the jug and then starts the work.
At the same time, after the kitchen is ready, women only oversee this holy place, and the entry of outsider in it is completely forbidden. Even if an outsider touches the red bungalow (Lal Bangla), then by breaking that kitchen, red bungalow is made from another soil.
Girls get admission only when periods start
Girls in Bhunjia society can also enter ‘Lal Bungalow’ only when their periods begin. Apart from this, women of this tribe do not wear blouses and petticoats, only saris. The nose is not allowed to be pierced, while the ear is involved in the tradition for both men and women.
Red bungalow is identified with tradition
The Bhunjia tribe lives in the remote areas of Gariaband and Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh. Their population in more than 25 villages is 10 thousand. Their traditions not only strengthen their cultural identity, but also reflect their nature and deepest association with religious beliefs. In today’s era, when many tribes are moving towards modernity, the Bhunjia community is presenting a specific example by saving its original traditions.
