Michael Steele, the previous chair of the Republican Nationwide Committee, has recommendation for Democrats: Don’t let Republicans twist the reality about Kevin McCarthy’s ouster.
“You’ve were given other people at this time blaming Democrats for ousting Kevin McCarthy,” Steele stated on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut.” “And I’m like, wait a minute, did I leave out the 15 votes it took Kevin McCarthy to persuade his Republicans, who had the bulk, to make him speaker?”
He went on: “Did I leave out what he did with that speakership, when he stated to Matt Gaetz, ‘Oh, we can now not require 20 votes within the Space to vacate the chair, we’ll give the facility to at least one member best?’”
