Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will undertake a two-day visit to India beginning Monday, August 18th, for high-level talks with Indian officials. The primary goal of this visit is to address the differences that have arisen between India and China. Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold talks with India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar. This visit is particularly noteworthy as it occurs before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to China. The visit also coincides with changes in India-US relations, including US trade actions. The discussions will also involve the border dispute with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, along with trade and air service restoration. A meeting with Prime Minister Modi is also on the agenda, which is seen as a strategic move before the SCO summit in China.
