
China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to India on August 18-19, 2025, marked an important step in bilateral relations. Invited by NSA Ajit Doval, Wang held discussions that included co-chairing the 24th Special Representatives’ meeting on border issues on August 19. He also met with S. Jaishankar and Prime Minister Modi. The Ministry of External Affairs released details on the visit, emphasizing the key agreements.
India and China affirmed the ongoing peace in border areas since the 23rd round of talks. Decisions were made to set up expert and working groups to improve consultation and coordination on border affairs. The border management system will see active development at diplomatic and military levels. Future talks will be held in China. The visit also facilitated agreements on various bilateral subjects that were discussed during the meeting of Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Wang Yi.
