CatholicVote has recorded at least 518 attacks on Catholic churches since May 2020. The states of California, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas have experienced the most attacks on Catholic churches.
CatholicVote notes that arrests have been made in only about 30% of these cases. Ariel Del Turco, Director of the FRC’s Center for Religious Liberty, stated that religious freedom relies not only on legal protections but also on social consensus. She added that any instance of vandalism or other crimes against churches is unacceptable and that cultural support for religious freedom and the Christian heritage must be strengthened.
