Varanasi. Meat and fish shops around Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh have been declared illegal on Friday. Also, more than two dozen shops have been sealed. This sudden action of the Municipal Corporation created a stir in the area.
It is being told that the Municipal Corporation administration has banned the sale of meat and closed 26 shops within a radius of 2 kilometers from the temple. Along with closing and locking the shops, the Municipal Corporation has also put notices on the shutters of many shops. It is written on it that this chicken-meat shop is illegal. It has been closed on 1 March. Let us tell you that in the Municipal Corporation House meeting held in January this year, a proposal was passed to ban the sale of meat in the two km area of Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Under the leadership of Animal and Medical Welfare Officer Dr. Ajay Pratap Singh, the teams today suddenly reached areas like Benia, Sarai Govardhan, Sheikhsalim Gate, Nai Sadak etc. Then they started closing the meat shops here, terming them illegal. Although people protested against the sudden action, no one had any action.
